CHILD REGISTRATION ONLY!

SESSION 1 (1:20-1:50PM)

Registration is a TWO step process. Parent & child must BOTH be registered as participants, and are both required to pay the Skate Canada Fee of $63. Registration is NOT complete until both steps in the registration process are fulfilled.

This program is ideal for 2-5 year-olds with no previous skating experience and/or for children who rely on one-on-one assistance. The registered Parent will participate alongside their skater. Independence is strongly encouraged once the skater gains confidence and is able to get up and move on their own.

The 30-minute group lesson instructed by our Skate Canada NCCP certified coaches includes circuits, games and activities, initially beginning with off ice an warm up to further develop skating fundamentals.

“Parent” includes a member of the skater’s household or social circle. If the “parent” who is intending to help the skater is between the age of 12-18, please contact the club before registering. For safety, insurance and liability purposes, the “parent” who registers with the child must be the individual who will assist them on the ice at every session (cannot switch between Parent/Guardians). The “parent” will be responsible for assisting their skater directly on the ice. The “parent” must have a sufficient level to be able to effectively skate on their own AND support their skater if necessary. The “parent” must wear a CSA approved helmet (NO bicycle helmets permitted) if their own skating level is below CanSkate Stage 5 or equivalent. CanSkate Stage 5 Skills include: skating forwards and backwards with ease, stopping from a higher speed, forwards and backwards crosscuts, ability to transfer from inside/outside edges on one foot.
