IMPORTANT INFORMATION, PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING.
 
IMPORTANT NOTICE: On August 24th WSC became aware of an increase to the Skate Canada Membership fee from $36 to $44. Our registration website has been adjusted to reflect this increase. Families who registered at the incorrect rate will receive an updated invoice in early September reflecting the new rate. We apologize for the inconvenience.

MANDATORY FEES
 
1) Skate Canada Membership fee: $44 - This mandatory fee is collected by WSC and submitted to Skate Canada.
 
2) Volunteer & Fundraising Bond: $125 - Each family pays this mandatory fee with the opportunity to earn their money back through participation in fundraising or volunteering with the club. 
 
3) Skate Ontario Promotional Lottery Contest Raffle Book: $40 - Each family will receive a book of 20 raffle tickets to sell. As the book is prepaid, when you sell the tickets you keep the money. The club retains a portion of the proceeds to help towards our fundraising goals. 
 
More information about volunteering and fundraising will be available on the website in September or in the information package you will receive at the beginning of the season.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

There are two options to pay your invoice.

1) Payments may be made via e-transfer to woodskater@execulink.com. Please use your 8-digit invoice number as your security answer for each e-transfer. 

2) Cheques or cash may be delivered to the Woodstock Skating Club office and deposited into the secure lock-box through the office door mail-slot.  

Skaters will not be allowed on ice until Payment is received.

 
Your account must to in good standing to register for the 2019-2020 Fall/Winter season. Payment must be received prior to skater stepping on ice. If you require assistance, please contact wscaccounting@execulink.com.

Program Description:


CanSkate is Skate Canada’s flagship learn-to-skate program, designed for beginners aged 3 to adult. CanSkate focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development.

Group lessons are provided by NCCP certified Skate Canada coaches. CanSkate skills are divided into stages. Skaters are placed into groups according to their age, skating ability, and the stage(s) they are working on. Skills are assessed on a continuous basis, with badges/ribbons awarded when all the skills at a particular stage have been achieved.

Pre-CanSkate: For new and experienced skaters age 3 to 5. Skaters are introduced to the basics of skating in a fun, friendly manner. Session includes a short off-ice warm-up to further develop the skating fundamentals. Skaters progress directly into the main CanSkate program upon passing the Pre-CanSkate Ribbon and Stage 1 Badge.

CanSkate: For skaters aged 6 and up who have not passed CanSkate Stage 5 badge (and skaters aged 5 who have passed Pre-CanSkate Ribbon).


Required equipment:

  • CSA approved hockey helmets are MANDATORY and face masks are highly recommended for ALL CanSkate sessions until completion of CanSkate Stage 5.

Program Description:

Please note: Invoices for Special Olympics skaters will require adjustments. Please allow 48 hours from time of registration for these adjustments to be completed. 

Provides special needs athletes with program and competitive opportunities. Liaising regularly with Special Olympics Canada as well as other sport organizations for athletes with a disability, Skate Canada provides updates and support to member clubs regarding strategies on how to integrate Special Olympians and other special needs skaters into regular club programming. For information on Special Olympics figure skating competitions, please contact your Skate Canada Section office or Provincial Chapter of Special Olympics Canada.
