From:    Woodstock Skating Club Board of Directors

                UPDATED: December 27th, 2021

Re:          2021-22 Season Woodstock Skating Club Vaccination Policy

To:          Woodstock Skating Club Members

Woodstock Skating Club recognizes the significant impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on sports and recreation activities. We understand how important skating is to our member families and are committed to doing what’s necessary to keep our programs as safe as possible for the 2021-22 season. Woodstock Skating Club believes mandatory vaccination is an important step to support our organization's efforts to prevent the spread of this virus. Ensuring that all eligible individuals are vaccinated will provide us with the best opportunity to keep our participants on the ice and will support regular programming.

In conjunction with directions from the Province of Ontario, Southwest Public Health, Skate Ontario and the City of Woodstock Recreation directives for facility use by amateur sports organizations, the Woodstock Skating Club will require proof of COVID-19 immunization for all persons unless otherwise exempt including skaters, spectators, coaches, officials, staff and volunteers in order to participate in Woodstock Skating Club sanctioned programming.

Exemptions shall include: participants who are under 12 years of age

Effective on January 4th, 2022, to enter the City of Woodstock Parks and Recreation facilities, including Reeves Community Complex, with limited exemptions:

  • All patrons 12 years or older (participant, coach, volunteer or spectator) will be required to show the ENHANCED VACCINE CERTIFICATE with QR CODE and a valid proof of identification (Driver's License, Health Card) at the point of entry.
  • Entry staff must review and confirm the proof every single time.
  • Effective January 10th, 2022, the city of Woodstock will no longer accept Medical Exemptions.
  • Anyone turning 12 in 2022 will be required to show Proof of Vaccination. For those turning 12 immediately in the new year, there will be a 12-week grace period with no exceptions after that.

Further details regarding implementation of this Policy, exemption qualifications, providing poof of vaccination, etc.  will be communicated via our website as they become available.

Respectfully,

The Woodstock Skating Club
